A pole is crafted by placing any log and any knife together in the crafting grid.

It also drops along with sticks and logs from felled trees.

Poles are used in the crafting recipes for spears (used to make Teepees), javelins, unstrung bows, fishing rods, wooden staves, Sticks, and Wicker.
